Our Mission

To Promote the growth of tennis in our community
Vision:  To be part of a world-leading tennis nation
Values:  Teamwork, Passion, Integrity

Hello once again to All 2022 members and Friends of the King City Tennis Association.

As Fall is upon us I want to sincerely thank all of our enthusiastic membership for their ongoing support of their local community non - profit tennis club .

This tennis season was the first full complete and uninterrupted tennis season since Covid arrived. Yea ! A real semblance of normality finally returned in our daily lives including tennis Monday Night House League , Drop - in Fridays , KCTA Inter-county play , all returned where both of our Ladies Teams A and B and the Mixed C Team competed extremely well , and always displayed excellent sportsmanship , home and away , while each achieving success representing KCTA.

It is important to note that our membership was up significantly 30+ % as we welcomed new members to KCTA . Recreational play amongst our members is very important to the KCTA Executive and despite having only two tennis courts , I believe the KCTA daily / weekly schedule struck a very good balance between organized tennis activities and Open Courts for our membership to arrange their own play amongst friends .

Our Summer Camps for our youth , Just for Kids run by Eileen Beck on Wednesdays for 3 hours and especially our KCTA resident Head Pro Markus Ziegler’s 9 week , Monday to Friday daily Jr . camp were great successes , attracting more than 300 Junior participants , a new record , to choose to learn and practice tennis skills at our King City Tennis Club .

A few weeks ago we held our 7th Annual Jack Wear Tournament with a big thank you to Suzanne Millar and Joy Rudyk for organizing this very popular end of season event . The 2022 winners this year were Yusuf Haydar and Antonio Esposito , congratulations.

On the last two days of September our ongoing partners , the Township of King , paid for the professional repairs of the cracks on our two courts , paint the repairs and also repaint All of our tennis court lines .

This is most appreciated as this will allow KCTA to play on a much better surface until the complete retrofit of our courts , hopefully for our Spring Opening in 2025 . The clubhouse will be closed as of Friday October 14th but the nets will stay up for as long as the weather permits , probably another week . Have a Great Fall and Winter and the KCTA Executive look forward to welcoming all our members back next Spring 2023 .

See You on the Courts
